Symposium Presentations:
Future Trends: What Will Technology Mean to Adult and Continuing Education
The discussion will focus on the meaning to ACE of technology change: wired, wireless, broadband, mobile, ubiquitous, virtual reality, simulations, games, real and second life, libraries. In terms of educational access will it matter where people live, whether they are rich or poor, young or old? Who will be the educators and what will they need to be lifelong learners?

Our Collective Hopes and Dreams for Adult and Continuing Education
Presenters will reflect on the trends that each sees from their perspective on the field.

Dr. Stephen D. Brookfield
Stephen Brookfield is an internationally acclaimed scholar in adult education who holds the title of Distinguished University Professor at the University of St. Thomas in Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minnesota. Before that he was a Professor of Higher and Adult Education at Columbia University in New York for ten years. During 2002 he was a Visiting Professor at Harvard University.
He has won the Cyril O. Houle World Award for Literature in Adult Education four times (in 1986, 1989, 1996 and 2005). He also won the 1986 Imogene Okes Award for Outstanding Research in Adult Education. His work has been translated into several languages including German, Finnish and Chinese.
Roundtable Session:
Meet the 2007 IACE HOF Inductees. The session will consist of roundtables of attendees plus two or more inductees. Each inductee will tell a little about their work and themselves and answer:
